How To Create A Cafe Experience

Getting started

Everyone from Music producers to Uber drivers is trying to save money these days. Some cut their Netflix and Amazon prime services. Some go as far changing toilet paper from double ply to single ply. We don’t need to sacrifice comfort and convenience in order to save money.  You can have a coffee house experience at home if you know how to unitize what you have around your home and the ideas in your mind. We all have an inner Barista and with a little direction and know how we can channel the energy to good use. We can create the café experience we want.

Atmosphere

Lighting is everything, especially when it comes to the dinning experiences. It is well-known that restaurants use lighting to create emotion. Lower the light bulb wattage and you create a more subdued environment to relax in. Bright light is liken to an amplifier to guitar – they heighten emotions. So, weather you’re happy or sad its sensation will be magnified in a bright room. Blue light can create energy. Natural light is said to be best for your health.  There is a ton of ways to change to lighting.  If you like an intimate setting, studio light is a good way to go. They are smaller and can concentrate light in a specific area. On top of that some studio or recessed lighting has option on dimming the lights.  Track lights are another good option because they cover a large section of space. If you don’t want to make large lighting set ups, you can still accent light to create dramatic effects.

Playlist

The Café experience is sensory driven, so much as it is visual it is also audible as well. Sound has a profound effect on our mood. It can get us hype us for an event, like rock music at Basketball game. Likewise, acoustic music can help us feel at ease like at a bar or restaurant.  Music can take us places we’ve never been and show us things we’ve never seen.  These are things to take in consideration when we create our playlist. There are a lot of ways we can enjoy our music. There are some great streaming platforms out there for example, Spotify and Pandora are great. However, if you’re feeling less ambitious there are also YouTube channels dedicate to café playlists.

Limit Distractions

The most essential part of a café experience is to enjoy yourself. If you’re wondering about how the light bill will be, or worry about other event, you will find it difficult to relax. When we go to Starbucks or Dunkin there is intent to focus, either on work, study or just a cup of coffee.  The real trick to pulling off the café experience is to be completely invested in it. If you’re involved in too many activities, you’ll miss out. That is the main reason we put so much weight on the lighting and sound so you can be completely committed to tasting coffee and enjoying the experience.
